This weeks topic we will be discussing strategies to move through the Christmas holiday while still staying committed to our goal towards weight loss success.
Brigitte and I wanted to share with you a couple recipes that we thought would add some more fun and yummy indulgence to your Christmas celebration but also insure you don't over do it.
I have a big sweet tooth so any way I can find a way to indulge but not feel guilty is key! Even though my recipe is not the typical Christmas desert, it still is red and cheery so it fits in well with the color scheme. It is one of my low calorie dessert favorites too.
Angel Food Cake: You can chose to make your own via a cake mix from the store and chose the lowest calorie option (usually 75-120 calories per piece), purchase a pre-made angel food cake from you local grocery store bakery area or purchase mini short cakes within your fruit section of the grocery story by the strawberries (usually around 70 calories per cake).
Fat Free Cool Whip: Then add 3 tablespoons (15 calories each) of fat free Cool Whip onto your piece of angel food cake
Then slice up one cup of strawberries and place on top of the cake (53 calories).
This is simple to prepare and so so yummy and best of all...LOW CALORIE!!!
